Over the years I have found that most children, even those diagnosed with ADD or ADHD, can very well thrive on one hour math sessions. How Can You Help Your Child Learn Math

Helping your child with math is easiest when he or she is young. Preschool and lower elementary age children accept help more readily than preadolescents or teenagers. Parents will also more readily understand the younger child’s homework, although today’s curricula, with its focus on discovery and problem-solving, sometimes stump math-savvy parents even at this level.

However: if even your child has moved beyond the early years of schooling, it is not too late to help.
